The ganglion rests upon the hyoglossus, between the lingual nerve and Wharton's (submaxillary) duct.
From the lingual, chorda tympani, and the sympathetic plexus upon the facial (external maxillary) artery.
These are distributed to the submaxillary and sublingual salivary glands.
