As Bowen* states in a recent article, various keratoses form the commonest cutaneous lesions that become cancerous. Certain of the soft nevi, however, especially the common pigmented moles, and scars resulting from various causes, either infectious or traumatic, are apt to become the seats of epithelial tumors, often of an extremely malignant nature.
