12 biscuits 1/4 cup Swift'ning.
1 teaspoon salt.
2 cups sifted flour.
3/4 cup milk (about)
3 teaspoons double acting baking powder.
3/4 cup grated sharp cheese.
Sift together flour, baking powder, and salt. Cut in Swift'ning, using pastry blender until the mixture is the consistency of coarse cornmeal. Add milk quickly and stir until blended to form a soft dough. Turn out onto a lightly floured cloth covered board. Knead 10 times to blend well. Pat or roll dough to 1/2-inch thickness. Cut into diamond shapes. Sprinkle with grated cheese. Place about 1/4-inch apart on baking sheet. Bake.
450° F.
About 15 minutes.
